Beautifully Broken

Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt broken? Beautifully Broken is a 12" x 12" mixed media piece that uses acrylic, collage, and gold leaf on canvas to embody healing and transformation. Inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art of filling pottery cracks with gold to honor its history, this work highlights beauty in imperfection. Delicate baby's breath flowers are pressed into thick texture, adding an ethereal connection to nature and our inner child. The chrysalis embodies transformation and that healing isn't always linear.
