The Light of Gratitude

Measuring at 30” x 40”, The Light of Gratitude is a Mixed Media on Canvas celebrating the warmth of friendship, motherhood, and the beauty of nature. The conception of this work began with a poem written on a typewriter by a poet in Las Vegas about gratitude. Thick textured leaves and copper details, reminiscent of tree rings symbolizing ancestry, shimmer alongside iridescent light breaking through the trees. The tender depiction of a mother deer with her fawn evokes the warmth of motherhood and friendship, while white butterflies flutter gently, echoing themes of gratitude and new beginnings.
